Longpi Shared Kiln

The story
Longpi potters in Manipur shape a black serpentine stoneware that touches no wheel — it is built entirely by hand and fired in open bonfires that lose one pot in three to uneven heat. A single shared kiln would end that waste and let thirty potter households fire together, safely, through the monsoon. Because a half-built kiln is no kiln at all, this campaign is all-or-nothing: if we do not reach the full amount by the deadline, every contribution is refunded in full.

Halfway, and finding our rhythm
The mid-point review is in. Attendance has held strong, the first pieces are finished, and the community has asked to extend one of the sessions. We have submitted photographs and a short film to the Sanchaari review team so the next tranche can be released against evidence.
